A United States D.A.R.E. training team traveled to Belo Horizonte, Brazil to conduct a mentor in-service from November 16 - 21, 2009.  Thirty senior D.A.R.E./PROERD mentors were trained in the Senior High School and "keepin' It Real " middle School curriculum as well as several enhancement lessons.

A D.A.R.E. International team of instructors trained over 25 Colombian National Police officers in Bogota in the High School and Parent course during this two-week event.

Brigader General Rodney Johnson, Commanding General, US Army Criminal Investigation Command and Provost Marshal General visited Camp Zama 1 in Japan

BG Rodney Johnson, Commanding General, US Army Criminal Investigation Command and the Provost Marshal General, visited Camp Zama this week. During this, his first visit to Japan, he met with Soldiers and law enforcement community leaders and and praised everyone for their loyalty and commitment,particularly recognizing three members of the Military Police Battalion for their outstanding performance.


"I want to thank each and every one of you for your service," BG
Johnson said. "We are now in the longest war in our country's history, with an all volunteer force - a feat many thought we could not sustain." Along with him, Command Sergeant Major Brock gave a regimental briefing and answered questions pertaining to policy changes, training and most notably changing Military Police roles in Iraq and Afghanistan. 


 

Barbados

Caribbean officers graduate from D.A.R.E. Officers Training

On May 1, 2009, 20 Caribbean law enforcement officers graduated from a two-week D.A.R.E. Officers Training course held in Bridgetown, Barbados.  The following island nations participated:

 

The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda – 6 officers,

The Royal Anguilla Police Force – 2 officers,

The Royal Barbados Police Force – 5 officers,

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force – 2 officers,

The Royal St. Lucia Police Force – 1 officer, and

The Royal Police Force of St. Vincent and the Grenadines – 4 officers.

 

The British Virgin Islands and the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force are the newest countries to adopt the D.A.R.E. program. 

This training is the first D.A.R.E. Officer Training course to be conducted in its entirety by a Caribbean cadre’ of mentors, a facilitator, and an educator. 

Several of the cadre’ will be sponsored by D.A.R.E. International to participate in the annual D.A.R.E. International Training Conference being held in Orlando, Florida in July, 2009.

Antigua and Barbuda

Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda  


On Saturday 14th February 2009 the Ministry of Education held an award ceremony to award and show appreciation to organizations and people who have contributed to education in Antigua and Barbuda.

I am please to say that the D.A.R.E program received an award for the positive impact the program has on the youth in the country.

S/Sgt T. Drew (DARE Mentor) also received an award for devotion and dedication in teaching the D.A.R.E program from chief education officer in the ministry of education Mrs. Jacinta pringal .

Canadian National Survey Supports D.A.R.E. program


The Royal Canadian Mounted Police developed a national client survey of the D.A.R.E. program surveying students, parents, teachers, principals and detachment commanders. It is the first Canadian national survey of the D.A.R.E. program. ....MORE
